Home Base: Eugene, Oregon
Biggest Outdoor Accomplishment: Backpacking the Core Zone of The Enchantments in Washington. Aasgard Pass, the toughest part, was a snow-covered 1,900 feet ascent in .09 miles. The entire hike covers 18 miles with 6,500 feet of gain.
Originally from Wisconsin, being in love with the outdoors was something my dad encouraged in my upbringing. He taught me basic survival tactics, how to read a compass, and a map. Even though I hated it at the time, now I understand it. I moved to Oregon in 2013 and recently bought a home here. I work as a Director of Marketing for an In-Home Care company; which gives me insight into social media and digital marketing. I started my blog in March of 2017 with hopes to inspire others to get outside. I live with my loving partner Benji and our two dogs, Patsy and Gouda. We are constantly plotting our next backpacking trip, car camping, day hike, or snowboarding excursion. Connecting with nature has taught me more about myself than anything else in the past 8 years. My medicine is walking beneath the trees and feeling the Earth among my toes. Being Among The Wild for me is being home. That is where I go to reground myself and realize what is important in life.
Bucket List: Mount Rainer National Park, climbing Mount St. Helens, and exploring the San Juan Mountains in Colorado.
